COVID-19 Data Update
August 24th, 2022
Dear Weyauwega-Fremont School District Families,
Friday night lights are on, volleyballs are being spiked in the gyms, and our runners are putting on miles in the backyard, hard to believe another school year is upon us! The school maintenance department and cleaning staff have been working hard this summer to get our facilities ready for the September 1st start date. Each year, our goal is to continue to modernize our buildings while being fiscally responsible. As you visit our schools or facilities, you may notice some updates!
I wanted to provide you with some reminders for the upcoming school year. We know that COVID has not gone away and at times this year may be challenging due to the virus.
Here are the current mitigation strategies for the 2022 – 2023 school year.
Ill or have COVID-like symptoms:
Return to school after 24 hours fever-free without fever reducing medications.
Return to school after 24 hours without vomiting or diarrhea.
Positive for COVID:
Stay home from school for 5 days after symptoms begin, and
Return to school after 24hrs fever-free without fever reducing medications
with improved symptoms.
Sending child to school:
If your child is experiencing any of the symptoms below, please contact the school nurse or school building office. The school nurse will use the symptom chart to determine if your child should stay home. Symptomatic students are encouraged to get tested.
COVID Symptom Chart
Fever greater than 100.4 F
Muscle or Body Aches
New Loss of Taste/Smell
Congestion or Runny Nose
Cough – New/Uncontrolled

Please make sure that you are contacting the building offices with any questions or concerns you may have. We will continue to update our website and send out email communications with any changes.
We are optimistic that this year will be a more “normal year”. Thank you for your continued support, cooperation, and flexibility as we embark on another school year.
